John is the Director of the Fair Tech Institute of Access Partnership.
John has wide experience in consultation work for UN agencies such as the World Bank, the IFC, the ITU, UNDP, UNESCAP, and others, and for many private sector companies, policymakers, and regulators across the Asia Pacific and Central Asia.
John Ure was a Professor and Director of the Telecommunications Research Project (TRP) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) until 2007, when he relocated and became co-Director and joint founder of TRPC Pte Ltd (Singapore) with Dr. Peter Lovelock, until its acquisition by Access Partnership. John is an economist, principal author, and editor of Telecommunications in Asia: Policy, Planning and Development (HKU Press 1995, 1997) and Telecommunications Development in Asia (HKU Press 2008) and numerous research papers and publications in international journals.
John is also on the editorial advisory boards of Telecommunications Policy and Digital Policy, Regulation, and Governance journals.
