Jan has a strong background in policy analysis, impact measurement, and monitoring and evaluation. He spent over 10 years within the Government of South Africa, working at both the national and provincial level, with the Department of Trade and Industry; Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; and the Office of the President. Most recently, he worked in the Office of the Premier of Gauteng, where he held the position of Director of Research and Policy Development. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and monitoring of policy development frameworks within government.

Jan holds a Master of Philosophy Degree (MPhil) in Public Policy and is one year through a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
