Meet Yamel

Yamel works as a manager for the Emerging Markets team out of Access Partnership’s Washington, DC, office. She has policy and advocacy experience across Latin America and the Caribbean and has engaged diplomatic circles around the Organization of American States (OAS), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), World Bank, and Embassy Row in Washington. Yamel is also a board member of the Cyber Policy Dialogue of the Americas.

Prior to Access Partnership, Yamel worked for the Information Technology Innovation Foundation (ITIF), a leading tech policy think tank where she was a Policy Fellow. She has also served as a Senior Account Executive for Public Affairs at Edelman in Mexico City. Yamel also served as a Chief of Staff in the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and managed connectivity projects in Latin America. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Mexican Ministry for Foreign Affairs, UNESCO, and the Executive Office of the President of Mexico.

Yamel holds a master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City.
