Independent Thinkers on Digital | The Metaverse Dilemma: Immersion Without Purpose?

Exploring the Concept of Metaverse Beyond VR Headsets.

Richard Harper and William Webb engaged in a conversation about the metaverse. Although they didn’t physically enter the metaverse through VR headsets, they discussed the implications of such an environment for society.

Richard, in particular, shared some fascinating sociological insights into how people tend to feel and behave when fully immersed in a virtual world. He noted that when people are in the metaverse, they may behave in ways that are different from how they would act in real life, which could lead to a range of problematic behaviors.

Despite the potential drawbacks of the metaverse, Richard and William agreed that there is still much to be explored and learned about this emerging technology.
