Workshop | Rethinking Post-Covid-19 Mobility: Connectivity on the Move in the MENA Region

6 May 2021 @ 12pm BST/1pm CET

If there is one big lesson the Covid-19 crisis has taught us, it is the importance of being connected. In addition, for the economic recovery from the Covid-19 crisis to be durable and resilient, we need innovative connectivity solutions that provide reliable and high-bandwidth broadband everywhere: on board aircrafts, vessels, terrestrial vehicles as well as to boost the smart city dream.

A workshop to take place at the World Summit on Information Society 2021 will convene industry leaders and regulators to share practical advice and insights on the challenges and opportunities connectivity presents for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. The discussion will address key developments in the transport and oil & gas industries with a particular focus on GSO satellite-powered Earth Stations in Motion (ESIMs), policy and regulatory issues, as well as lessons learned in the journey to digitally transform how we connect on the move in a post-pandemic world.
