Fred Humphries
Fred Humphries is corporate vice president of U.S. government affairs for Microsoft Corporation in Washington, DC, where he manages both the federal and state government affairs teams. With almost 20 years of state, federal, campaign, and association experience, Humphries’s professional background includes serving as senior policy advisor for Representative Richard Gephardt’s (D-MO) leadership staff in Washington, DC, in the Office of the Minority Leader, as southern political director for the Democratic National Committee, and as chief of staff for Representative Sanford Bishop (D-GA).
In addition, Humphries worked on the staff of Governor Ned Ray McWherter of Tennessee and is the former executive director of public policy for U.S. West Communications. Humphries also has substantial experience in national politics, having served on the staffs of four presidential campaigns. Humphries is a graduate of Morehouse College and Temple University School of Law.
