Access Partnership’s Senior Manager, Logan Finucan, recently co-authored a report with regards to Digital Identity Systems, published by AWS Institute.
This report dives into how global governments are implementing digital identity system services and innovation.
The COVID-19 crisis has significantly altered the way which companies across all sectors and regions do business. According to multiple surveys, companies have accelerated the digitisation of their customer and supply-chain interactions and of their internal operations by three to four years.
The report consists of four main chapters, as it draws practical insights for public leaders looking to direct their countries towards a well-designed digital ID system. Designing an effective digital ID system is also a key topic in this report, as the paper highlights the key ID structures. Finally, lessons learned, and best practices are explored to provide the reader with a concrete take away from the paper.
The paper took a number of factors into account, looking at the experiences of other nations with efficient digital identity systems, all with the goal of articulating the make-up of a well-designed digital ID system. Despite the fact that there is no single model that can answer this question for every country, a scan of the landscape suggests that there are key processes, considerations, and technical decisions that can help countries increase their benefits of digital identity and improve public services.
