FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRUSSELS, Belgium (21 November, 2013) – Public affairs consultancy Access Partnership has opened an office in Brussels, expanding upon its locations in London, Washington DC, and Abu Dhabi. Senior Manager International Public Policy, Matthew McDermott, will lead the new office, offering clients an enhanced ability to shape policy outcomes, and understand the political and institutional dynamics, of European Union institutions.
McDermott has been with Access Partnership for six years and has already operated widely in Brussels during his tenure. The permanent presence in Brussels comes at a time of significant policy flux as EU institutions consider measures such as data protection legislation, new regulation to shape the cloud computing market, and cyber security legislation.
McDermott is clear that effective advocacy around these issues needs consistent engagement: “As efforts continue to harmonise tech regulation and standards across Europe, only regular interaction with policymakers here can ensure that the stakeholders we work with are able to guide the process.”
In addition to offering increased insight into the decision making process in the EU, the Brussels office will continue to cover trade, cloud computing, privacy, security, procurement, Internet governance, and spectrum policy. The office will have access to the company’s worldwide resources, including engineers, public policy experts, and former policy officials.
Access Partnership was founded in 1999. The company provides an experienced, multi-disciplinary, multilingual staff to devise and implement a strategy for resolving political, technical, and regulatory barriers to trade on five continents. To find out more, please visit www.AccessPartnership.com.
