AI in Healthcare: Maximising Opportunities, Minimising Risks

AI in Healthcare: Maximising Opportunities, Minimising Risks

On 27 September, Access Partnership hosted a webinar discussing the convergence of technology and healthcare. This convergence offers substantial potential for innovation and transformation within the healthcare sector. As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to advance in sophistication, it brings opportunities to enhance efficiency, personalization, and overall effectiveness in healthcare services.

However, this promising landscape is not without its challenges. Cultural obstacles, concerns related to data security, bias, and hesitancy among stakeholders represent significant roadblocks that must be addressed to fully leverage AI’s potential. Overcoming these hurdles is pivotal for achieving widespread adoption and successful integration of AI within the healthcare industry.

The event included an Expert Panel moderated by Kayleen Brown, a HealthTech journalist from Newsweek and a seasoned MedTech business strategist. The panel featured the following experts:

  • Mike Bales, Director of AI and Digital Health, Roche
  • Dr. Magesh Kasuthuri, Distinguished Member of Technical Staff, Wipro
  • Ashley Casovan, Executive Director, Responsible AI Institute
  • Melissa Govender, Head of AI Policy Lab, Access Partnership

The debate was built around a series of structured questions, with audience members leaving interactive comments for further discussion before a closing Q&A.
