Paola Vega-Castillo
Paola Vega Castillo is Minister of Science, Technology and Telecommunications of Costa Rica since June 1st, 2020 and she was Deputy Ministry of Science and Technology from May 8, 2018 to June 2020. She previously served as Vice President for Research and Outreach in the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (ITCR) where she promoted the strengthening of research and outreach, and linkages with national and international sector for increasing the scientific publication and patents. She has a degree in Electronic Engineer from the ITCR and graduated in Microelectronic and Microsystems at Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH). She became the first woman in Costa Rica to earn a PhD. in Microelectronics by TUHH.
