Embracing equity this International Women’s Day

At Access Partnership, diversity, equity and inclusion are at the heart of all we do. This year’s theme is #EmbraceEquity, and we’d like to cement i) our commitment to recognise that each person has different circumstances, and ii) our intention to allocate the resources and opportunities needed to strive for an equal outcome.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, 2023, we’ve asked some of our fellow AP colleagues what this year’s theme of #EmbraceEquity means to them.

Lim May-Ann

It is important for technology and data businesses to #EmbraceEquity because it makes good business sense for all perspectives to be heard, represented, and balanced in all the digital products and services that we use today, and in the future.

I commit to developing a future workplace where we celebrate each other’s strengths, and where all APers gain the confidence to speak their truth.

In a world where there is no dearth of strong female idols, personal and celebrity, my inspiration is eminent primatogist and global gem, Dr. Jane Gooddall. Her commitment to charting her own path, creating room for difficult conversations, fraternising with her “enemies”, and instilling a deep love for biodiversity in the next generation are a celebration of morality, equity, and diversity.

I commit to doing my part to #EmbraceEquity through my daily job as a HR professional. My aim is to ensure our workplace is a safe space in which everyone feels respected, heard, and set up for success.

It is important for technology and data businesses to #EmbraceEquity because generating new ideas requires a diversity of thought from everyone, and, importantly, women need to have a voice in deciding the course of innovation.

Sheriff Njie

It is paramount that technology and data businesses #EmbraceEquity because without this we are nothing. Each person is unique in their own wonderful way, regardless of their background. Finding ways to empower each and every person should be the goal of businesses in all industries.

Nur Ridhuan 

Businesses should #EmbraceEquity in everything they do. Strength and innovation come from diversity of people who bring different ideas, perspectives, and value.
