Amid climate change and sustainability policy’s most turbulent year, creating a regulatory environment which allows for innovation in the telecommunications industry while reducing carbon footprint has become even more important. As both the public and private sector enhance digital transformation efforts to keep up with the acceleration of technological innovation, data centers are being increasingly relied upon for information processing and storage.

An increased amount of data means a higher energy consumption, which has a knock-on effect on the carbon output of these centers.
