Héctor E. Castro Appointed Vice President for Health & Life Sciences

Washington D.C., US – Access Partnership is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Héctor E. Castro as Vice President for Health & Life Sciences.

Héctor brings extensive expertise in global healthcare and pharmaceutical policy, specifically on issues related to health technology assessment, managed entry agreements, health data, and health sector reforms. He will lead the company’s work in health economics, market access and health financing, and will also be instrumental in supporting Access Partnership’s clients across Latin America and the Caribbean.

With over 25 years of experience, Héctor has held key public and private sector roles in shaping healthcare systems worldwide, advising governments on how to improve access to innovative medicines. A physician with a Doctorate of Public Health and Policy/Health Economics, he has worked with the World Bank and the World Health Organisation, as well as many research and development pharmaceutical companies. Héctor was the Founding Director of Colombia’s Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agency, Head of Health Policy for Latam at Genentech/ Roche and served as Director of Innovation and Access to Medicines at the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO). Before joining Access Partnership, he was Executive Director of Health-R LLC.
