Independent Thinkers on Digital: Dissecting Telecom Turbulence

Unraveling the Complexities of the Telecom Market with Maurice Patrick

Access Partnership CTO William Webb talks with Maurice Patrick, a Managing Director at Barclays. They discuss whether there is an issue with the rate of returns that operators are making and broadly conclude that much of the issue comes down to intense competition in some markets. With mergers potentially being allowed this may change, and there are other positive signs on the horizon. But also there is much uncertainty around “fair share”, rates of mobile traffic growth, new services and fixed wireless access, giving William and Maurice much to ponder.
