Panos Kanavos joins Access Partnership’s network

22 July 2026 (London, UK) – Access Partnership, the frontier technology consultancy getting innovation into market faster, today announced that Dr. Panos Kanavos has joined its network as Senior Advisor, working with its Health and Life Sciences team.

Panos brings deep expertise in pharmaceutical and medical technology policy, spanning pricing, health technology assessment (HTA), digital health, and value assessment. He has advised ministries of health in over 50 countries, as well as the European Commission, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and the OECD, and co-authored the impact assessment that underpinned the EU’s HTA Regulation (HTAR). He is Professor in Practice in International Health Policy at the London School of Economics, where he also serves as Deputy Director of LSE Health and Director of the Medical Technology Research Group.

The appointment adds further depth to Access Partnership’s Health and Life Sciences bench, as health systems globally demand more systematic, dynamic and evidence-informed approaches for navigating pricing decisions, HTA frameworks, and market access rules that increasingly vary by technology as well as by market.

Panos’s experience shaping the policy architecture of healthcare ecosystems will help clients move from concept to diffusion.

“The gap between a promising health technology and one that patients can actually access is rarely scientific, it’s almost always down to policy. Having worked extensively on the assessment and pricing side of that gap, I’m looking forward to helping Access Partnership’s clients close it faster.”

Panos Kanavos, Senior Advisor, Health and Life Sciences, Access Partnership

“Panos is a giant in the world of health and life sciences, and having followed his career for a long time, and benefited from his mentorship, I am excited to have him on board. His work has shaped how countries over the world assess, recognize and reward the value of new health technologies, and that perspective is exactly what our clients need as they navigate an increasingly complex path to market.”

Héctor Castro, Vice President of Health & Life Sciences, Access Partnership
