19 August 2026 (London, UK) – Access Partnership, the frontier technology consultancy getting innovation into market faster, today announced that Dr Sherif Sedky has joined its network as Senior Advisor.
Sherif brings more than three decades of executive and academic leadership across space, science and technology policy in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency, where he led the completion of the Egyptian Space City and one of the largest satellite Assembly, Integration and Testing facilities in Africa and the Middle East, and oversaw the launch of two Earth observation satellite missions. He is also the former Provost of The American University in Cairo and Founding Provost and Executive President of Zewail City of Science and Technology. Internationally, he served as Chair of the 67th Session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS), the first African representative to hold the role since the Committee’s founding in 1959, and as Chair of the Arab Space Cooperation Group.
The appointment strengthens Access Partnership’s Space practice as governments and agencies across the Middle East and Africa look to build national capability, secure international partnerships, and translate space investment into economic and social value, alongside a private sector increasingly reliant on the same policy and regulatory groundwork.
