Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to evolve at a rapid pace. In collaboration with government officials and other key stakeholders, Access Partnership has conducted a comprehensive global survey to map the intricate policymaking process and capture the global perspectives surrounding the use and development of this technology.
As countries lay the groundwork for AI regulations, our initiative focuses not only on disseminating global insights into AI frameworks but also on supporting businesses to navigate shifting rules and compliance demands, aligning their strategies with ever-changing standards.
From varying perspectives on the existential threat posed by AI to concerns and opportunities presented by the technology, our survey delves into the profound impact automation is having on governments and policymakers globally. Our research uncovers divisions regarding AI’s impact on issues such as discrimination and misinformation, as well as widespread support for a multilateral regulatory body on AI. However, the nature of what this body should look like and how far its reach should extend remains fiercely contested, with the UN, OECD, ITU, and EU cited as potential leaders.
