Sustainability Tracker

Sustainability Tracker

Welcome to the fourth issue of Sustainability Tracker – our monthly update on the most important policy developments tackling the urgent challenge of climate change and sustainability.

Key takeaways include:

  • Following his inauguration, US President Joe Biden signed various executive orders on climate change to re-join the Paris Agreement, promote the use of zero-emission vehicles, and create an environmental justice scorecard.
  • British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will seek to obtain a world-wide agreement on a net zero emissions target by 2050 during UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). UN chief António Guterres called on leaders to begin formal negotiations virtually to avoid inconclusive talks in November.
  • Over 40 organisations, including AWS, Google, Microsoft and AWS launched the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, a set of self-regulatory measures developed with the European Commission to make data centres climate neutral by 2030.

From April 2021, our sustainability tracker will be available on a subscription basis only. You can subscribe to receive tailored sustainability updates that matter to your business. As government and policy approaches to sustainability continue to transform, our monthly intelligence can prepare you for the climate-conscious future of technology. We are able to offer a range of consulting services in this area, including policy analysis, tailored monitoring, leading advocacy campaigns, and driving engagement with key stakeholders.

For more information on our subscription monitoring services, including the tracker, please contact Gordon Mackay, Climate Sustainability Lead at Access Partnership.
