Access Partnership Appoints Fernando Borjón as Senior Advisor for LATAM

Former Chairman of the ITU’s Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations and Commissioner of Mexico’s ICT regulator will advise Access Partnership clients on regulatory matters and government engagement in Latam’s biggest markets.

 

Access Partnership Appoints Fernando Borjón as Senior Advisor for LATAM

Former Chairman of the ITU’s Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations and Commissioner of Mexico’s ICT regulator will advise Access Partnership clients on regulatory matters and government engagement in Latam’s biggest markets.

Access Partnership, the leading global public policy firm for the tech sector, today announced that it has appointed Fernando Borjón as senior advisor for the Latin America region. As a respected expert with a longstanding presence in the LATAM ICT community, Borjón will be advising telecom and technology clients on navigating government engagements and regulatory barriers.

Borjón has more than 20 years’ experience in the ICT sector working primarily with the Mexican government. He has held high level positions including Head of the Telecommunications Investment Promotion Agency where he was responsible for the Red Compartida project, Commissioner at the Federal Institute of Telecommunications and Coordinator of Technological Development at the Ministry of Communications and Transports.

As a member of the Radio Regulations Board at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and former Chairman of the Expert Group on the International Telecommunication Regulations at the ITU, Borjón has played a major role in the development of regulatory best practice, globally. Borjón also held the position of Chairman of the ITU’s Plenipotentiary Conference in 2010 and Chairman of the ITU Council from 2010 – 2012.

Fernando Borjón holds a BSc. on Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and a MSc. degree from Brunel University in the United Kingdom.
