London, UK – 15 June 2022 – Access Partnership, the global public policy firm for the tech sector, today announced it has appointed Ivo da Motta Azevedo Corrêa as its Senior Advisor in Brazil. In his new role, Ivo will support innovative brands navigate and thrive amid Brazil’s ever-changing regulatory landscape and help Brazilian tech leaders expand into new markets.
Founding partner of XVV Advogados – an award-winner law firm ranked among the most admired law firms in Brazil –, Ivo has a deep understanding of technology, internet, privacy, and data protection issues, as well as a long history of working in the public sector.
In the corporate world, he was Uber’s Senior Policy Director and Google’s Policy Director, leading corporate policies and regulatory strategies in Latin America and Brazil. In the public sector, he also served as General Counsel to the Office of the President, coordinating the drafting of the federal government’s legislative agenda and the approval of various regulations in the areas of infrastructure, logistics, telecommunications, internet and access to information. Prior to that, Ivo occupied positions as a special advisor or a director at the Ministry of Justice, the Federal Senate, and the São Paulo City Hall.
Ivo holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University and is a professor at Insper – Sao Paulo.
With the emergence and development of new services and products based on new technologies, a new wave of regulatory developments is taking place in the country; from the content moderation proposed legislation (known as the “fake news” bill), to growing efforts towards more concrete Artificial Intelligence (AI) and international data transfers regulations, Ivo will work alongside Access Partnership’s policy experts providing creative strategies supporting our clients’ growth in Brazil.
“We are excited to work with Ivo during this period of digital and regulatory transformation in Brazil. Ivo’s experience joined to our existing team will give Brazilian clients greater support as they expand into other geographic markets, and help companies from across the world understand and access the Brazilian market”.
Matthew McDermott, Chief Client Officer
