LONDON, 5 August 2024 – Access Partnership marks its 25th anniversary with a renewed call to arms to make access to technology and innovation fairer – the concept that it was launched under and retains as a central value.

Established in London, UK, the company has expanded with the technology sector in both its offering and reach, having established offices in Washington, DC, Brussels, and Singapore and providing in-country support through its hubs across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. It counts among its team world-class experts in technology policy, engineering, shaping of legal frameworks, and economic analysis.

To mark its 25th year, the company is exploring what Fair Tech means to stakeholders a quarter-century after its first call to harmonise regulation globally. From its vantage point as an advisory partner to the world’s governments and private sector disruptors, there remains a lot of progress to make in the way innovations come to market and how their benefits are democratised.

“There still remains too much of a space between these transformative innovations and the way they are regarded by markets globally,” Greg Francis, CEO of Access Partnership, said when reflecting on two-and-a-half decades of observation and action. “This scepticism means that innovators still need to work at explaining the benefits of their art to all parts of society.”

To shape this effort, Access Partnership will mark its 25th year by launching a new series of thought leadership and video content, enabling its experts from around the world to dissect how the principles of Fair Tech apply to their areas. They will provide analysis and predictions on what lies ahead for, among others, responsible AI, healthcare, connectivity, finance, and online safety.

To further explore these principles and bring in perspectives from Access Partnership’s global network of technology and policy leaders, the company will also organise a series of Fair Tech-themed expert roundtables in its locations globally. Insights from these events will then be shared through a special anniversary edition of its annual Tech Policy Trends report, offering 25 predictions for 2025.

Finally, Access Partnership wants to know what you think are the biggest opportunities and challenges in fair, equitable access to technology. Keep an eye on Access Partnership’s LinkedIn to cast your vote.
