Senegal’s recently proposed Code of Electronic Communications threatens the access of Senegalese to Internet telephony applications like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Skype and Viber. The outcome of such a measure would be a serious blow to the country’s digital economy and democratic progress. Access Partnership’s Director for Africa, Abdou Lo took part in a joint press conference in an effort to change the text of the proposed law.
