Access Partnership Welcomes Yamel Sarquis

15 December, 2020 – Washington, DC. Access Partnership, the leading global public policy firm for the tech sector, today announced that it has appointed Ms. Yamel Sarquis as Policy Manager for Latin America in its Emerging Markets team. She will be based in Washington, DC.

Ms. Sarquis will expand Access Partnership’s existing policy depth on and advocacy in Latin America and the Caribbean and tap into and activate the diplomatic circles around the Organization of American States (OAS), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), World Bank, and Embassy Row.

“Almost nowhere is the proposition of Fair Tech as critical or fragile as it is in Latin America,” said Christopher Casarrubias, Head of Emerging Markets at Access Partnership. “As Latin America digitizes, its countries will have a seat at the table setting the global rules for Fair Tech. Yamel will play a vital role in advising our clients as they engage in the region.”

About the appointment, Sarquis said, “I am pleased to join Access Partnership as the company expands its global footprint. The firm’s work on behalf of the tech sector is unique among consultancies and has a clear developmental benefit. I look forward to working with such a talented team.”

Sarquis comes to Access Partnership from the Information Technology Innovation Foundation (ITIF), the leading tech policy think tank, where she was a Policy Fellow. She previously worked as a Senior Account Executive for Public Affairs at Edelman in Mexico City. Yamel also served as a Chief of Staff in the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and managed connectivity projects in Latin America. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Mexican Ministry for Foreign Affairs, UNESCO, and the Executive Office of the President of Mexico. Yamel holds a master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City.
