Achieving a green recovery from the COVID-19 crisis: AlphaBeta’s presentation at the “Global Academy on the Green Economy”

Ms Genevieve Lim was invited to present AlphaBeta’s work with the Asian Development Bank on the post-COVID green recovery at the “Global Academy on the Green Economy”, on May 11, 2021. Organised by the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) Academy, which brings together five UN agencies – UN Environment, International Labour Organization, UN Development Programme, UN Industrial Development Organization, and UN Institute for Training and Research, this event, held virtually for the first time, is the fourth edition of the Academy. Themed “Towards a green, fair and sustainable recovery”, the event offered a range of insights on achieving a green recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, and ensuring transformational change through the promotion of renewable energy, circular and blue economies, food security and sustainable transport. With over 100 viewers from different countries tuned in, the webinar, which was live translated into 3 languages, garnered thought provoking questions and insights relating to the financing and fiscal requirements of a green recovery, and how social equitability of these outcomes could be achieved.
