Generative AI is no longer a future concept – it’s already reshaping how organisations operate, enabling employees to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more on innovation, strategy, and creativity. Its widespread affordability and availability on mobile devices have fuelled rapid adoption across sectors and geographies.
To explore how organisations are using generative AI – and what comes next – Access Partnership has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to conduct a global survey of over 3,700 IT decision makers across nine countries.
The findings reveal five key trends set to shape AI adoption in 2025:
1. Generative AI tops budget priorities
45% of respondents say generative AI tools are their top IT budget priority for 2025, and ease of integration is a top criterion when selecting generative AI tools.
2. Chief AI Officers are on the rise
60% of organisations have already appointed a CAIO, with another 26% planning to by 2026.
3. Integration accelerates
90% of organisations now deploy generative AI tools, and nearly half have moved beyond experimentation to implementation.
4. Skills matter
56% of organisations have launched internal generative AI training, but many also plan to hire externally to close the talent gap.
5. Trusted partners will be critical
A hybrid approach dominates, with companies customising off-the-shelf models and leaning on third-party vendors for deployment.
