Metro TV News | Satellite Technology Saves Lives

This interview was originally broadcasted by Metro TV News on 20 April 2022.

Following the recent publication of Access Partnership’s White Paper “The Role of Satellite Communications in Disaster Management”, Senior Policy Manager Ivan Suarez was interviewed by Metro TV about the importance of satellite technology to reducing the negative effects of climate change-induced natural disasters.

As the climate crisis unfolds, natural disasters across the world are increasing. Adopting satellite technology would reduce the time it takes for an end-user to communicate with emergency services, thereby saving millions of lives. It is therefore crucial that governments begin to open a dialogue with the private sector and key stakeholders to make satellite technology more available, planning ahead for the inevitable increase of natural disasters.
