The Access Partnership, a global leader in technology policy and public affairs, released the fifth edition of its Tech Policy Trends 2023 report. The document provides insight into the most pressing issues that will shape the technology industry this year.

Web 3.0 and the next web are highlighted as one of the crucial focuses, promising further decentralisation and democratisation of the internet. In addition, the brief examines EU infrastructure and supply chain security, as the region seeks to strengthen its resilience against cyber threats.

The regulatory future of the metaverse, the virtual world where users interact in real time, is also analysed in the report, shedding light on its impact on industries and society at large. Tensions between the US and China and their potential impact on technology policy and innovation are also discussed.

“Filled with expert analysis, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of the most pressing issues in technology policy and their potential impact on society,” explained Gregory Francis, Executive Director of the Access Partnership.

“Our experts discuss the most important industry issues and provide information that can help companies navigate the evolving technology landscape. We will use the clarity with which we see the next twelve months to unite technology creators with those who, either through lack of access or over-confidence, have not yet been sufficiently touched by its benefits,” Francis added.
