Virginia is an Associate in the Geopolitical Advisory and Policy Advocacy practice, and is based in our Jakarta office. A trained consultant with extensive experience in government relations and regulatory affairs across the public and private sectors, she advises Fortune 500 companies and international organisations on navigating Indonesia’s dynamic regulatory landscape in emerging tech, digital economy, and financial services.
Prior to her current role, Virginia led policy research initiatives at Think Policy, focusing on accelerating Indonesia’s national digital transformation, including an in-depth analysis of the country’s e-government service delivery model. She also served as a Junior Researcher at the Brussels-based European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS), where she facilitated dialogue between policymakers and academics on key bottlenecks in EU-Asia relations, particularly on issues surrounding the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Earlier in her career, Virginia managed a corporate portfolio at the Jakarta branch of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), where she supported Japanese investors entering the Indonesian market and growing existing operations in the country.
Virginia holds a Master of Arts in International Political Economy from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
