In a recent interview with Tech for Impact, Access Partnership’s Lim May-Ann discusses how governments that are serious about digital transformation must embrace the cloud – even if that means moving away from systems and investments that go back decades.
“We need to ensure that government is digitized,” Lim says. “How do we do that? A lot of that foundational technology sits on top of cloud computing.
“That is absolutely vital in order to build the fourth industrial revolution, and the next generation of e-government products and services.”
Watch the video for a practical look at how governments should manage costs, risk and security while negotiating a new social contract with commercial cloud providers.
“It’s not one-size-fits-all,” Lim says. “It’s a conversation, and it takes a really strong government to do it. I really want to free up the government’s hands with cloud computing to think about important policy issues.”
