AlphaBeta thanks the New Zealand and Australian governments for hosting AlphaBeta Director Dr. Fraser Thompson at the negotiations for the ASEAN Australia New Zealand free trade agreement in Melbourne. Fraser presented joint research with the Hinrich Foundation on the value of digital trade to Australia and ASEAN Member States (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam).

The main message – digital trade is quickly becoming the future of cross border trade and we must put in place trade deals that support this growth, tackling data localisation impulses.
