Last week, the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB), together with Access Partnership in its role as appointed consultant, organised a landmark week of strategic engagements in Islamabad to accelerate the development of Pakistan’s national space regulatory framework and support the growth of its space economy.
Bringing together public institutions, industry stakeholders, and international experts, the programme laid the groundwork for a robust, future-ready regulatory environment that reflects global best practices while responding to Pakistan’s domestic priorities.

Bilateral engagement with Her Excellency, Minister Shaza Fatima, Ministry of IT & Telecom
PSARB and Access Partnership provided Her Excellency with an update on the progress made towards developing Pakistan’s space regulatory framework. The discussions underscored the importance of enabling regulation to support both national objectives and private sector growth in the space domain.
Satellite communications regulatory modernisation workshop
This interagency workshop convened key regulatory stakeholders – including the Frequency Allocation Board (FAB), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Ministry of IT&T, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), and Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The session focused on modernising licensing frameworks, addressing spectrum use, mitigating interference, and improving coordination across agencies.
Industry roundtable on satellite communications regulation in Pakistan
With participation from the Honourable Minister, this roundtable gathered more than 50 local and international stakeholders from the space, satellite, and telecommunications sectors. Discussions addressed market access for Non-Geostationary Satellite Orbit (NGSO) operators, investor confidence, and the future direction of satellite regulation in Pakistan.
