World Telecommunication & Information Society Day: Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development

Today marks World Telecommunication & Information Society Day, which celebrates international progress in the ITU’s mission of driving inclusive digital development. This year’s theme, ‘Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development’, highlights the role that innovative technologies can play in tackling the world’s most pressing challenges, from fighting climate change to eliminating hunger and poverty. According to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Digital Acceleration Agenda, digital technologies can help achieve 70% of the targets under the SDGs by 2030.

Over the past 12 months, Access Partnership’s work has supported the full range of SDGs through our efforts to broaden the reach and extend the impact of game-changing technologies.
